2009-05-02 GHNA Steering Committee Meeting
The meeting was held at the home of Chris and Meagan Eller. Present were: Chris Eller, President and Meagan his assistant, Jeff Morris, Treasurer, Judy Wagner and Lori Garriaghty, members at large, and Claudia Lindman, Secretary.
Jeff reported that there is $107.46 in our account. This represents dues of $1 per household per year as well as money raised from recycled aluminum cans, which Chris turns in periodically. To participate, just leave your bagged cans in the trailer in Chris’s driveway.
Neighborhood Clean-up: Meagan and Lori reported that 7 adults plus some children met last Saturday (April 25) to pick up trash. They filled 9 plastic bags. Another clean-up is planned for early November. Next Spring the event will be held after Little 500.
E-mail List: Meagan reported that 49 of the 88 households in the neighborhood are now on the e-mail list. Anyone can send a message to the entire list by using the following address: firstname.lastname@example.org

Upcoming Events: Yard Sale May 16 from 8-1. Call Meagan if you want to be included on a map noting all the sale sites that day. Meagan will put an advertisement in the paper.
Meagan signed us up to participate in the HAND project which promotes strengthening neighborhoods. There will be a GHNA booth at the Farmer’s Market June 6. Call Meagan if you can help with the booth.
June Block Party: Lori will coordinate this event to be held June 13 from 3 to 6 PM. Traffic on Staats will be blocked. We will set up grills and supply napkins, plates, plastic ware, ice and beverage. Everyone is asked to bring a dish to pass and whatever you wish to grill.
Ice Cream Social: This annual event will again be hosted by Gillian Fields'. The date is August 16. More details to follow.
Annual Meeting: The annual meeting will be held from 2-3 on June 13, prior to the Block party. We need to elect two officers, the president and one member at large. These are two year terms. Please contact the current officers for more information if you are interested in participating in our neighborhood in this way. Annual dues of $1 per household will be collected at this meeting.
